Back In 1983:
Mr Raha, being an young chemist from Jadavpur University always aspired to open up his own chemical manufacturing unit. Though it was a very hard path for the young chemist to follow his dreams, but slowly and gradually he started manufacturing PF resin for plywood industry and insulating varnish for transformer industry at Behala Industrial Estate.

Progress and Popularity
Being an young enterprenuer, filled with energy to satisfy the growing demands for consumer items like conventional phenyl, floor cleaning agents, deodorants and similar products, the company switched over from industrial items to consumer items within a short span of time. The company had become the bulk supplier of disinfectants to Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Central Medical Store, nursing homes and cinema halls. By 1989 Ridge Chemicals had spread its business by launching products in the consumer market in collaboration with different marketing companies under different brands.
